About Our Training Program
The maritime industry plays a crucial role in the economic growth and development of many coastal states including St. Kitts and Nevis. In fact, this
sector which comprised of ports and shipping, yachting, cruise shipping, fishing and aquaculture, diving, marine biotechnology, deep sea mining, offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, ship and boat building, dry dock, maritime construction, coastal tourism, research and education and seawater desalination is considered one of the major employer in St. Kitts and Nevis. In spite this, St. Kitts and Nevis is yet to create specialize facilities to cater for the growing demands of this sector or deliver maritime education and training. In the meantime, Local Trainees have to venture off island to obtain the required training. As a consequence, it has become absolutely necessary to establish the St. Kitts and Nevis Maritime Training Center. The primary aim is to accommodate the training of local students, further enhance the growth of this sector and address the gap by providing comprehensive training programs to trainees and individuals seeking employment or career advancement in various sectors of the maritime industry. This proposal therefore, outlines the need for such a center, its background, vision, mission, objectives, potential benefits proposed courses, future courses, syllabus, time table and plans for establishment.

To commence the delivery of maritime education and training, the St. Kitts and Nevis Maritime Training Center will focus its efforts on the following proposed courses during the first phase of its operations.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Maritime Training Center will expand upon its offering of
courses to potential trainees after a comprehensive review and assessment of the
