Part A - Course Outline

A candidate for the Boatmaster Licence should successfully complete Basic Safety Training as required by the STCW code A-VI/1 as approved by the Administration, in addition to the Syllabus at sub-section 2 below. A candidate for the Boatmaster Licence must be a holder of a VHF Radio Telephone Operators Licence. To work on a passenger vessels candidate must complete the training specified in section A- V/2, paragraphs, 1 (Crowd Management Training) and 4 (Safety Training for Personnel providing Direct Service to Passengers in Passenger Spaces) of the Seafarers, Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Code, (STCW Code) as required by the Administration.
